Fraternity I Testvériség Team Challenge Team Challenge Rev. Louis Medgyesi (HRFA Director) and Bishop Bela Poznan we skipped Team Challenge and visited the Bethlen Communities. That visit was one of the week’s highlights! Once there, the campers met with representatives of the Hungarian Reformed Federation of America (HRFA) and other organizations who presented generous checks to the Youth Camp that offset the overall cost of camp. Without this kindness and generosity, the camp would not be possible. The campers were at Camp 200, at aCapital Duicide of IS so grateful for this blessing The talented staff of the Bethlen Communities prepared and served us a delicious lunch, and afterwards, we split into three groups: one visited the residents, another traveled the halls and sang, and the third did some outside weeding. This wonderful opportunity to minister to the residents of the Bethlen Communities was transformational, heart-warming and a blessing to all! We wrapped up the visit, walked through the town of Ligonier, and then returned to camp for the week’s dance. To beat the heat, Thursday’s team challenge was an outdoor water event. We had a great ducky-run and water-balloon launch, but the fun really began when the teams were given permission to have a water and shaving cream fight. Laughter rang out and water and shaving cream covered the big, grassy outdoor field. Even Bishop Emeritus Ludwig got in on the cool-down activities! Our last full day was Friday when temperatures got up into the 90’s. Thank the Lord for cooling breezes and indoor areas with air-conditioning. Team Challenge that day was indoors where we kept cool and played Bible Trivia Challenge, always a favorite with the campers. Then it was down to the waterfall for missionary “Flat Stanley’s” journey. All the crafted boats made it to the falls but none made it over intact. It was a fun end to that part of our week. Consecration Service on Friday was the highpoint of the week. Most campers dressed up in their Sunday best. There were lots of picture taking and fellowship followed by a sermon around the campfire and a candlelight walk to Worship and Communion Service. It was an emotional celebration, but we weren’t totally done with our teams! After allowing them to change into casual clothes, we had one more challenge to go find our counselors. Each team searched for their counselor who had gone off to hide somewhere nearby on the campgrounds. Laughter and fun ended our last evening together, and the Blue Team was our Team Challenge Champion for the year. Saturday morning, we packed up, loaded cars, hugged our good-bye’s (some of us had a few tears in our eyes) and began to think about Camp 2011. The Youth Camp Ministry is a wonderful gift from God. It is a blessing to campers and counselors — everyone at camp — to attend for a week, make new friends and grow in faith. The Youth Camp leadership team has already established the dates for next year’s Youth Camp. Please put July 17-23, 2011 on your calendars now. We hope this advance notice gives even more opportunity for our families to plan ahead so nobody misses the joyful experience of growing in faith in Jesus at Youth Camp! Again, we thank the Hungarian Reformed Federation of America (HRFA) and everyone else who supports camp in any way including camp attendance and participation, prayer, donations of time and finances as well as kind words of encouragement. Bless you all, and may God continue to bless this wonderful ministry to our youth! TtoQM CmftM, QmmÍjM mii CITs The comments, smiley faces, unique grammar and feelings are completely from the heart.
