Page 14 Fraternity- Testvériség Special Celebrations at the Bethlen Home ANNA HARDING The Bethlen Home honored resident Anna Harding as she celebrated her 100th birthday on Sunday, July 24. Born in Karl Stad, Sweden in 1905, Anna had one brother and four sisters. While her mother raised the family, her father worked first as a contractor and then in the mines, in 1920, when Anna was 15 years old, her family moved to the United States. They first settled in Youngstown, Ohio, where Anna quickly became the nanny for several families. She soon met her future husband, Samuel Edward Harding, and they moved to New Jersey. There, Anna raised the family while Samuel worked as a draftsman. Anna was married almost 50 years before her husband’s passing. In 1990, she moved to Ligonier to care for her sister. She just “loves the country setting.” For eight years, Anna has been a resident of Bethlen Home. She enjoys participating in the daily activities offered at the skilled nursing facility and socializing with friends and volunteers. Bethlen Communities wishes Anna a Happy 100th Birthday. ALINE HOFFMAN Ligonier Gardens celebrates Aline Hoffman’s 100th birthday. Bom on September 25, 1905 in Pittsburgh, Aline lived with her mother, father, and two brothers. Aline worked at Potter Title & Trust in the Trust Department when her brother, John, introduced her to his friend, Howard Hoffman. Aline and Howard married in 1930, and raised their two sons, Robert and Donald, in Mount Lebanon, Pennsylvania. Howard served as the Vice President of Dollar Savings Bank, but has since passed away. Aline has been a resident of Ligonier Gardens since 2000. She has two sons, 10 grandchildren, and 20 great-grandchildren. Happy Birthday, Aline! Lara Provance Director of Marketing Bethlen Communities DEDICATIONS TO THE GLORY OF GOD “Then Samuel took a stone and set it up between Mizpah and Shen. He named it Ebenezer (Stone of Help), saying, ‘Thus far has the Lord helped us. ”- 1 Samuel 7:12 Dear Friends and Supporters of Bethlen Communities and the HRFA, The above noted “dedication” of the Stone of Help took place after the Israelites won a significant battle against the Philistines. Samuel led the dedication ceremony, in which the important victory was commemorated, and during which, Almighty God was worshipped and thanked. During late summer and early fall, Bethlen Communities hosted two special services of dedication, in which an important accomplishment was celebrated, and during which, Almighty God was worshipped and thanked. On Labor Day, September 5, 2005, the new Bethlen Home was dedicated to the glory of God and to the care and service of God’s children. Nearly 30 years to the day after the dedication of the North Wing in the old A packed Linden Room at the Labor Day Bethlen Home Dedication Service for the new replacement skilled nursing facility.
