Fraternity- Testvériség Page 18 szellemiségéhez híven ott leszünk mindenkor a rászorulók számára. Nagy Tibor, Területi üzleti vezető Tel: (352) 528-6410 Branch 202 — in Pittsburgh, PA When we started planning our JOIN HANDS DAY activity earlier this year, we knew we wanted to pick a project that can get a lot of people involved. Landfill sites are filling up quickly, and this is a global matter that we need to bring it to everybody’s attention. Recycling is a tiny effort on our side, but if we understand the importance of the concept and show how a small initiative can make a big difference, we can help in the preservation of our planet’s true treasures - the environment, the beauties of a forest, and the wonders of its wildlife. We decided to collect old phone books from branch and church members and deliver to recycle. By raising this issue we could enter the classrooms of our Sunday school, familiarize the future generation with the problems that they might be facing when they grow up if we don’t think and act responsibly right now. Together we have managed to collect 161 books! This was a 2-month project and we would like to thank all who took the time and effort to bring their old phone books to us. Bertalan Oláh, Branch Manger (412) 521-3412 Branch 227, 2, 3, 31 — in Brecksville, OH On May 25, 2005, Marge Nicholas of Branch 227, Ed Szabó of Branch 2, and Bill Nicholas Director of Ohio, took over 1,600 pieces of individually wrapped, delicious cookies for our veterans at the Veterans Hospital in Brecksville, Ohio. For this worthy project to honor our veterans, 23 women took part in preparing home-made cookies, and 6 children helped to bag them. Ed Bihary of Branch 3 was planning on attending but was forced to give up on participating due to his illness. We wish him a quick recovery! Emma Aros of Branch 31 donated a monetary gift towards the supplies. Pictures will be coming in the next issue of Fraternity together with the names of those who helped. Thanks to all who tirelessly baked and baked to sweeten up one day for those who served us and the country. Marge Nicholas, Branch Manager Tel: (330) 372-5183 Branch 300 and the Home Office — in Herndon, VA Stefan Fedor and Reverend Gabor Nagy at Tony's Hats booth On May 7th, 2005, the volunteers of Br. 300 came together to "join hands" at the Town of Herndon's 5th Annual Community Day and Housing Fair. Stefan Fedor, the National President of the American Hungarian Federation also helped with Rev. Gabor Nagy, the Pastor of the Hungarian Reformed Church in Washington, D.C. in making hats for children and adults, which was a big hit! Erika Mason and Noemi Heilman painted tiger and lion faces on young children while Frank Kapitan, branch manager, washed the paint brushes and made sure the paint wouldn't dry out. Silvia and Erika Fedor helped in applying tattoos to children, and some adults joined in on the fun. Judit Zambo and Les Megyeri threaded necklaces for little .. children. Our youngest helpers Olivia Fedor, Noemi Heilman is revealing her secret artistic talents. Mr. Megyeri is receiving a „Necklace Honor”.
