FRATERNITY Page 21 I have been privileged to play is helpful. If the HRFA would like to partner in any way, I would be glad to assist in the process. Donations are always in need. Thank you for your interest in me and my involvement in Moldova. The above article was sent to me by Carrie Romanin, whose mother, Ethel Dellafield, member of Br. 31, informed me about her daughter and granddaughter’s missionary work in Moldova. I thought it would be an interesting article for the readers of Fraternity-Testvériség. Emma Aros, Branch Manager Branch 31, Lorain, OH. Youth Challenged to Address Global Issues and Conflicts Kimberly Erin Pauli, a Senior at Mt. St. Mary's High School in Watchung, NJ, attended the North American Invitational Model United Nations (NAIMUN) Conference in Washington, DC from February 13-16, 2003. It was held at the Washington Hilton Hotel at Dupont Circle and was attended by nearly 2500 students from many countries. The Conference was hosted by the Georgetown International Relations Association. Students of Georgetown University have run the NAIMUN Program for 39 years making it one of the oldest. Delegates are challenged to address global issues and conflicts. NAIMUN simulates approximately 32 committees in six different types of international political bodies. Kimberly was a selected participant in the Security Council Committee representing Iran and Belarus. The issue before the committee was the Suez Crisis of 1954. Sessions were held throughout the day and night. At one point members were awakened at 1 A.M. for a crisis session and told to report to their Conference Room dressed in business clothes. They were briefed on the crisis, given updates, debated the issue and finally instructed to develop resolutions that would help resolve the crisis. As part of the Embassy Briefing Program, Kimberly was invited to the Iranian Embassy and had the opportunity to speak to a member of the Diplomatic Corps. Kimberly is the daughter of Dr. and Mrs. Robert Pauli and the granddaughter of Director and Mrs. Michael Pauli, Jr. She is also a member of Branch 501, Metuchen, N. J.
