Page 14 TESTVÉRISÉG BRANCH NEWS Branch 1 - Bridgeport, Connecticut Adam Shields attained the high rank of Eagle Scout. For his project he made new benches, new signs, and painted the lobby of Emmett O’Brien Regional Vocational Technical School in Ansonia, Connecticut. He attends classes there. Adam is the son of Janet Shields and brother of William and David Shields, who are also mem­bers of the Federation. Adam is the grandson of Elza and Alex Perigyi, President of Branch 1. Congratulations, Adam! Ella Racz, Secretary 203-372-5292 Branch 20 - Trenton, New Jersey Members of the Hungarian Reformed Church Youth Group have been working with members of Branch 20 nearly every evening for the past two weeks, learning to sew. The project they are working on is to make bags for walkers to deliver to the Bethlen Home when the Church summer camp makes its visit there. The youth group mem­bers are having a great time, learning something new, and performing a useful service. We can supply the pattern, instructions, and fabric to other branches who would like to make walker bags for their local nursing homes. Deneice Oroszvary, Branch Manager 215-493-0656 Doroszvary@aol. com Branch 35 - Detroit, Michigan Join Hands Day On June 16th members of Branch 35 held the first an­nual Join Hands Day of Branch 35. We planted flowers in front of the American Hungarian Reformed Church in Allen Park, Michigan and worked hard all day to beautify the landscape of our beloved church. We were all very pleased L. to r.: Sam Vespremi, Zoltán Ambrus, Iren Ambrus, Rev. Ferenc Varga, Ilona Szabó, Louise Ambrus, Paul Korody, Vice President Jim Nagy, and Chief Elder George Opra. Standing in front of Ilona Szabó: Joshua Ritchie, Edie Santo and Edith Santo. with the results of our efforts. Reverend Ferenc Varga and Jim Nagy, Vice President of our branch, were among the gardeners. At the end of a hard day’s work, we rewarded ourselves with a nice luncheon. Thank you to all the vol­unteers who came out for our first annual Join Hands Day. It was a great success and we look forward to next year’s project! Edie T.
