We wish to thank Addison’s family for being loyal members of the Federation throughout generations. Rachel Victoria Desantes born September 9, 1997 to Jeff and Julie Desantes of Cranberry Twp., Pennsylvania. Little Rachel is also the granddaughter of Joe and Peg Fabri. God’s richest blessings on Addison and Rachel and their families. Peggy Fabri, Branch Secretary The annual meeting of our branch was opened at 1:00 p.m. on February 2, 1998 with a prayer by Branch Manager Arlene Csornán. The Treasurer’s report was given by Alex Varady. We discussed at length the Christmas party and the hurka and kolbász sale held in December 1997, as well as plans to hold another hurka and kolbász sale in February, and the annual picnic of the branch which will be held in May or June of 1998. The branch donated $1500.46 to Sandra (Varady) Borrelli. Plans are underway for the Ladies Aid Conference (PA) banquet. The officers elected for 1998 are: Joseph Fabri, President; László Kovács, Vice President; Alex Varady, Treasurer; Margaret Fabri, Secretary. The annual Christmas party for the children of the branch was held at McDonald’s. The children received a “happy meal” complete with dessert. They sang Happy Birthday to Jesus in honor of our Lord’s birth. After a tour of the facilities, a monetary gift was given to each child from Branch 151. Many thanks to the branch officers who made this event a success. Arlene Csornán, Branch Manager BRANCH 158 - VESTABURG, PENNSYLVANIA The annual branch meeting was held on November 2, 1997. Mary Patrick opened the meeting at 2:00 p.m. with a prayer. It was agreed that we would continue with our old projects: gathering clothes for the needy, providing eyeglasses for Lion’s Club, helping with meals-on-wheels and checking on elderly neighbors. We lost the following members: Helen Lutian, Irma Popovich and Mary Bush. Under new business, we talked about getting new members, making decorations and favors for the Skilled Care Unit of Brownsville General Hospital. We will also continue to donate to local and area causes. Our social events are our meetings plus when we meet while doing our charity events. Officers elected for 1998 were: Mary Patrick, President; Nancy Posten, Vice President; Irene Sinclair, Treasurer; Monica Szep Maxon, Secretary.
