It was opened by the President of the Branch William Szuch, who also offered the opening prayer. It was reported that the Secretary of the Branch, Helen Szuch, had done volunteer work during the past year in order to raise funds for the Heart Association and Cancer Group in our area. It was requested that we continue supporting the Building Fund and Annual Bazaar of the Bethlen Home as we did in the past. Our projects for this year will concentrate on doing all we can for the Bethlen Home and our community. The Secretary reported that there were two deceased members in 1992. Members who were and are ill are remembered by a visit or a card wishing them well. Our branch welcomed six new members in the past year. Members who received scholarships in the past are doing well in school and are grateful for the help they received from the HRFA. Officers elected for 1993 are: William Szuch, President; John Palisin, Vice President; Helen Szuch, Secretary-Treasurer & Branch Manager. The meeting adjourned at 8:30 P.M., and the next meeting is scheduled for May 5,1993 at 7:30 P.M. in the residence of our Branch Manager Helen Szuch, 423 Service Avenue, Sharon, PA. We look forward to working with the newly elected officers of the HRFA. Helen Szuch, Secretary BRANCH 69 - COLUMBUS, OH The business meeting of the HRFA-Br. 69 was held in the home of Branch Manager Irma Carnevale and her husband, Angelo, at 1655 Kenwick Rd., Columbus, Ohio, at 3:00 P.M., following luncheon provided and hosted by the Carnevale’s. Branch President, Reverend István Nyeste, opened the meeting with a prayer and announced that the purpose of this meeting was to elect officers and also to make plans for the activities of the year. The minutes were read; two corrections were made. Otherwise, the minutes were accepted, as corrected, by Irma Carnevale and seconded by Janet Vegh. Treasurer’s report was given with a bank balance of $293.09; it was accepted and filed for audit. Discussion was that we should apply to the Home Office for the yearly seed money. The election was held with the following results: Rev. István Nyeste, President; Clara Sabo, Vice President, and Rose Komives, Secretary-Treasurer. President Nyeste said he was looking forward to working with the Home Office officials to help with new ideas. He would like to see some fund raisers and perhaps hold meetings once every three months rather than meeting at two month intervals. July 18: Members’ picnic. September 18: Regular business meeting. October 3: Possibly a cabbage roll dinner. December: Christmas Party (Members).
