Page 26 TESTVÉRISÉG tion. I'm taking business management at Middlesex County College in Edison, New Jersey. I'm very interested in the Arts and I love to paint." AMANDA GARAY, is a Member of Branch 405 in Hamilton, Ontario: "Thank you for the financial assistance. I am currently attending McMaster University in Hamilton, Ontario, and am enrolled in the second year of the Arts and Science program. I have participated in the program's functions committee and Amanda Garay in its big sister/brother program. I am also involved with WUSC (World University Service of Canada), a student organization interested in Third World development. I am considering a career in the foreign service after graduation." Maria Papp is Manager of Branch 405. GEORGE S. HEGEDŰS is a Cadet at the United States Military Academy, West Point: "I would like to take this time to thank you for granting me the student aid benefit. I know I can use it wisely, either for the future, or for the great deal of activities, functions, and trips that West Point has to offer. Being Hungarian and knowing the language and culture has opened the door to many opportunities. I went to Hungarian School from 1975-1986, Hungarian Scout Troop from 1979-1988, and the Hungarian Rábai Dance Troop from 1984-1986. The Scout Troop provided me with many skills for Cadet Army Field Training. Since birth I have been a member of the HRFA. School has also provided a rich source of involvement. In high school I have participated in George S. Hegedűs soccer, tennis, swimming and football. I also joined the debate team, the John Hersey High School Newspaper: The Correspondent, the German Club, Naval Junior ROTC and the National Honor Society. At West Point I am honored to be the first regiment's Ring and Crest Representative. Most importantly, being a member of the Chicago Hungarian community has given me a strong sense of morals and ethics from the adults and strong friendships with bonds that can't be broken. Although I am many miles from my Hungarian and American friends in Chicago, we will always remain the best of friends. As I continue my academic, military and physical training, I hope to use what I have learned to help my parents, friends and community. I look forward to this coming academic year. It will be interesting to see how things work from the upperclassman's side. I will keep you informed on how the year goes. Once again, you have my greatest thanks." Cadet Hegedűs is the son of Marie Hegedűs, Manager of Br. 100. Elizabeth Pall "I want to thank you for your generous award. It will certainly aid in financing my education. I am currently a Biology and Chemistry Interdisciplinary at Lawrence University in Appleton, Wisconsin. I have two more years to complete my major as an undergraduate, and then, I plan to attend Graduate School. Patricia Cuddy
