László arrived from Hungary in June 1988 and is currently working in Rockville, Maryland. Our blessings and all good wishes accompany the young couple's future. This is to announce another happy occasion. Zsizsi, lifetime member of the Federation and youngest daughter of our Branch Manager, Mrs. Eva Kiss, is getting married on March 18, 1989 to a young man from Australia, Jeffrey Holzgrefe. The ceremony will be bilingual, performed in Hungarian by Reverend Imre Bertalan and in English by Reverend Emmett Cocke. More to come on this event in the next issue. Erik Steven Chardin Our youngest member is Eric Steven Chardin, born in Houston, Texas, on February 27, 1989 to Martha Katalin and Patrick Chardin. Eric is the grandson of the Home Office's youngest grandmother, namely Martha Major. Congratulations to the parents and grandparents from us all—hopefully the Texans will one day move closer to Washington, D.C. so that the grandparents could spend some more time with the newcomling. Introducing our two new members from Norway: Nicholas Szabó Engstad and Marcus Szabó Engstad— grandsons of Rev. & Mrs. Eugene Szabó. Nicholas and Marcus live 120 miles north of the Artie Circle in Well-earned medals for Nicholas and Marcus Szabó Engstad Tromso, Norway. They are shown here as they just finished a 5-kilometer cross-country race. They both received medals for participating in the race. Their parents are Patricia Szabó and Ole-Johan Engstad. The whole family will be coming to America in June. Eva Kiss, Branch Manager BRANCH 302—NEW BRUNSWICK, NJ Our meeting was held in the District Office on February 17,1989 at 7:30 p.m. Julianna Tompa, Branch Manager, called the meeting to order and Rev. Barnabas Roczey performed the opening prayer. The minutes of the previous meeting were read and accepted. The Treasurer reported the following donations that were given by our branch in 1988, namely $1,000 to Debreceni Kollégium; $700 to Bethlen Home; $100 to Theological Seminary in New Brunswick; $100 for 5 tickets—William Penn Assoc.; $75 to Magyar Ref. Church, New Brunswick; $50 for Nyeste Baby Shower; $50 for Ad in William Penn Anniversary Book; $25 for Ad in HAAC Anniversary Book As old business the painting of the District Office was discussed. It was voted to have quarterly meetings: on April 14, September 15, December 8, 1989. It was also voted upon to hold a "Spring Dinner" in May to raise money for the branch. The date set for the dinner is May 20, 1989 at 7:00 p.m. at the Magyar Reformed Church, Fellowship Hall, New Brunswick. Area branches will be invited too. We are planning to hold a Bethlen Otthon Dinner in October and give part of the profit to the Student Aid Fund. On Thanksgiving Day, we will present food baskets to the needy. In December, the branch will hold a Christmas Party for our members and their children. A word of thanks was given to the outgoing officers, and nomination for Branch President was made. Rev. Roczey did not accept the nomination. The Branch Officers for 1989 are: Zoltán E. Tompa, President; Linda K. Puskas, Vice President; Julianna Tompa, Secretary-Treasurer; Margaret Katko Pepin, Comptroller. Julianna Tompa, Branch Manager BRANCH 352—CLEVELAND, OH President Andrew Tatar opened the meeting on January 29, 1989 at 3:00 p.m. and Rev. Aaron Elek performed the opening prayer. Motion was made to accept the minutes as read, it was seconded and carried. The Treasurer's report was presented by the Treasurer pro-tem Ed Bihary.
