1 Page 20 TESTVÉRISÉG Hickyné, Soltzer Kató újj bántalmai ellenére gyönyörűen zongorázott és csak utólag vallotta be, hogy majdnem lemondta szereplését fájdalmai miatt. Külön öröm volt a vegyes házasságokból származó 3 éves Castillo Hazel és a 16 éves Cariaga Antoni érthető magyar nyelve. Az ünnepi beszédet Elekes Zoltán mondotta. Dr. Biró Béla, Garay Ilonka, Fülöp Enikő, Hudák Eszter és Hudák Tériké szavalt a tőlük megszokott szép magyarsággal. A műsor Nt. Babos Sándor imájával és a magyar Himnusszal zárult. A műsort Saltzer Margit osztály-titkár és Garay Ilona állította össze nagy hozzáértéssel. 1988. május 1-én az Osztály az Első Magyar Ev. Ref. Egyházzal közösen tartotta meg Anyák Napi ünnepségét. A műsort Saltzer Margit állította össze és a verseket Garai Ilona tanította be, hiszen olyan szavaló is volt, aki még nem jár iskolába. De az anyukák is besegítettek a tanításba. Hivatásos előadó művész nem volt a műsoron, csak a házi erőket mozgatta meg a rendezőség. Hangulatos, kedves műsor volt. Bírálatképpen Babos Sándorné nagytiszteletű asszony záró szavaiból idézek: "Ti keseregtek, hogy nincs templomotok, hogy kevesen vagytok, és mégis ennyien összejöttetek és ilyen kedves műsort csináltok. Ne keseregjetek! Bízzatok Istenben és sorsotok jobbra fordul." A műsort Dr. Bíró Béla vezette a tőle megszokott tökéletes kétnyelvűséggel. A legidősebb édesanya, Nt. Babos Sándorné, és a legfiatalabb, Laubender Jasmine cserepes virágot, de minden édesanya kis csokor virágot kapott az Egyesület ajándéka képpen. Szathmáry Lajos, jegyzó BRANCH 300—WASHINGTON, D.C. The president and members of Branch 300 wish to express their sincerest thanks and gratitude to Mr. Janos Taba, his two sons and their wives for their hospitality in February, 1988. Friends and members of our branch were invited to their Martinsburg, W.Va., farm and took part in a real "disznótor." Everybody, young and old, had an exceptionally good time. The songs of Hungary sounded late in the hills of West Virginia, telling stories of love, death and patriotic feelings of Hungary. It was a great day for all of us — thanks to a great Family: the Taba Family. Eva Kiss, Branch Manager BRANCH 302—NEW BRUNSWICK, NJ On June 11,1988, George Dózsa, member of Branch 302 and Vice President of the Hungarian Reformed Federation of America was honored with a Distinguished Service Award presented by the American Hungarian Foundation at their annual Carousel Ball. George Dózsa Mr. Dózsa is a Staff Chemist at the department of environmental sciences, Cook College, Rutgers-The State University. He was born in Hungary and attended the Agricultural University in Gödöllő, Hungary, and Vienna, Austria, and is a 1970 graduate of Rutgers-The State University. Currently, he is also Vice President of the Hungarian Reformed Federation; a member of the Planning Board of the City of New Brunswick; member of the Development Council of the American Hungarian Foundation; and Vice President of the American Hungarian Democratic Club of New Brunswick. He is past Chief Elder of the Magyar Reformed Church in New Brunswick; past President of the American Hungarian Democratic Club; past Vice President of the Middlesex County American Hungarian Democratic Organization; past Commissioner of the Housing and Urban Development Authority for the City of New Brunswick; and past Vice President of the Hungarian Civic Association. In 1981 Mr. Dózsa was the Chairman of the Carousel Ball. He and his wife, Matilda, live in New Brunswick with their children, George II and Cynthia. Branch 302 is sponsoring a Szatmár Megye- Szamosszegi Dinner for the benefit of the Debreceni Kollegium to be held on Saturday, June 25, 1988, as one of their activities of the year.
