Temporary Chairman William Szuch explained the procedure of the elections and appointed the following committee of tellers: Bela Toth chairman, John K. Morey secretary, Joseph Kovács, Andrew Peclet, Gabor Nitsch. a) Election of President: Imre Bertalan and Elmer Vargo were nominated. Elmer Vargo declined and Imre Bertalan was elected by acclamation. The Chairman declared the Rev. Imre Bertalan as the elected president of the HRFA for the next four years. b) Election of Vice-President Secretary: Nominated were Elmer Vargo, Joseph Tegze, Paul Viczian, Tibor Baksy. Paul Kantor declined the nomination, the others accepted it. Nominations were closed and ballots were taken. The result of the election: Elmer Vargo 35 votes, Joseph Tegze 34 votes, Antal Viczian 1 vote. Since the needed 36 votes were not received by any of the candidates, the chairman ordered a second ballot between two highest vote-getting candidates: Elmer Vargo and Joseph Tegze. The result of the second ballot: Elmer Vargo 36 votes, Joseph Tegze 33 votes. The Chairman declared that Elmer Vargo was legally elected Vice-President-Secretary for the next four years. c) Election of the Treasurer: Nominations for Treasurer were: William Puskas Sr., Paul T. Kovács, Paul Kantor, Antal Viczian, Tibor Baksy. Paul T. Kovács and Antal Viczian declined, the others accepted the nomination. Nominations were closed and the following ballots were taken: William Puskas Sr. 56, Paul Kantor 11, Tibor Baksy 3. The Chairman declared that William Puskas Sr. was legally elected Treasurer of the HRFA for the next four years. d) Election of Three Vice-Presidents: For Vice- Presidents the following persons were nominated: Dezső Abraham, Joseph Bakty, Tibor Dömötör, George Dózsa, Louis Illés, Joseph Tegze, Susan Virgulák. All accepted the nominations. The nominations were closed and the following ballots were taken: Dezső Abraham 43 votes, George Dózsa 37 votes, S. Virgulák 32 votes, J. Tegze 31 votes, J. Bakty 26 votes, T. Domotor 20 votes, L. Illés 19 votes. The Chairman declared that Dezső Abraham, George Dózsa, and Susan Virgulák were legally elected Vice-Presidents of the HRFA for the next four years. e) Election of the Members of the Board of Directors: One director for the Connecticut and New York district: Gabor Csordás was nominated and elected by acclamation. After the secretary cast the ballot, the Chairman declared that Gabor Csordás was elected as director from the New York-Connecticut district for the next four years. Two directors from the New Jersey District: Nominations were: Joseph Tegze, László Lip- poezky, Stefan Torok, Priscilla Hunyady, Barnabas Roczey, Albert St. Miklossy Jr. All accepted the nomination, the nomination were closed, and the following ballots were taken: Joseph Tegze 43, Priscilla Hunyady 35, László Lippoczky 18, Barnabas Roczey 14, Albert St. Miklossy 13, Stefan Torok 10. The Chairman declared that Joseph Tegze and Priscilla Hunyady were legally elected directors for the New Jersey district. Two directors from the Western Pennsylvania district: The nominations were: Louis Hies, Louis Szuch, Denes Tamas, Endre Csornán, Klara Csikesz, Olga Darnay, Nicholas Novak. Denes Tanias declined, all others accepted the nomination. The nominations were closed and the following ballots were taken: Endre Csornán 44, Nicholas Novak 33, Louis Szuch 21, Klara Csikesz 7, Olga Darnay 7. The Chairman declared that Endre Csornán and Nicholas Novak were legally elected as directors from Western Pennsylvania District for the next four years. Two directors from the Ohio district: The following persons were placed into nomination: Joseph Benedek, Tibor Domotor, Michael Pennington, Paul Kantor, Zoltán Szűcs, Joseph Abel, Edward Szabó. All accepted the nominations. Nominations were closed and the following election had this result: Joseph Benedek 39, Edward Szabó 27, M. Pennington 26, Tibor Domotor 21, Paul Kantor 9, Joseph Abel 7, Zoltán Szucs 3. The Chairman declared Joseph Benedek and Edward Szabó were elected directors from the Ohio district.
