The estimated cost is $100,000. 3) “Bethlen Home Residential Plan” to provide individual one bedroom-kitchen-livingroom apartment units with garage for married couples or single persons. Estimated cost of first unit with two apartments $55,000. Expected to be ready for occupancy on May 1, 1980. On September 6th and 7th the Board of Directors voted the following resolutions concerning the next Convention: June 23, 1980 will he the opening date of the Convention; it will he held in Ligonier, Pennsylvania. Pre-notice of the date and place of the Convention and the date, place and time for the branch convention delegates and alternates election meetings he published in the July-August-September issue of the Fraternity. The same to be published in a complete - final detailed form with By-Law references in the October-November-December issue of the Fraternity. The official notice in the official paper of the Federation shall he mailed to the members of the HRFA during the second half period of November, 1979. The Board also approved the three building projects of the Bethlen Home and authorized the Executive Committee to grant mortgage for the completion of the projects in case of financial request from the Board of Managers. On September 23rd the Hungarian Reformed Church of Wood- bridge, New Jersey celebrated its 75th anniversary. President George preached the anniversary sermon and the Rt. Rev. Dr. John Butosi, deputy bishop extended the greetings of Calvin Synod. Ministers of the New Jersey area also took part in the anniversary worship service. Dr. Andrew Har- sanyi, pastor of the Carteret congregation and Rev. Emil Varga, pastor of the South River congregation also extended greetings emphasizing that 75 years ago the three communities organized one church and supported one pastor. Although their union was dissolved many years ago the three congregations maintain excellent Christian fellowship with one another. Rev. Egry and the chief-elder thanked the HRFA for granting mortgage loans to the congregation for its three building projects: church - parsonage and fellowship hall. On September 30th the First Hungarian Reformed Church in Cleveland, Ohio celebrated the 30th anniversary of its church building which “in recognition of its architectural excellence” has been designated by the Cleveland Landmarks Commission a “Cleve- m. h land Landmark.” A beautiful album was published by the Rt. Rev. Dr. Stephen Szabó in which he gives a detailed review of the dedicated work of the Building Committee and the most generous support of the church organizations and members for the building project. President George and Bishop Parragh preached the English and Hungarian sermons. The Cleveland area ministers also participated in the spiritual services. The keynote speaker of the banquet was the Honorable Frank Lausche former governor and U. S. senator. Greetings were extended by the Rt. Rev. Abbot Jerome Koval who emphasized the good neighbor policy of the two congregations. Dr. Joseph Piri chief-elder greeted the members and the guests of the congregation at the anniversary worship service and the banquet. Mr. Charles Hartman was the toastmaster. The HRFA was represented by W illiam Aros, William Szuch vice-president, Rt. Rev. Tibor Dömötör Board member and László v. Kemes area manager. Thanks were expressed to the HRFA for the mortgage given toward the building project. On October 14th the Hungarian Reformed Church in Columbus, Ohio had its newly elected pastor ordained and installed. At the afternoon worship service President George preached the Hungarian and Rev. Aaron Elek the English sermons. Bishop Desmond D. Parragh was in charge of the ordination and installation of the new pastor. The Ohio area ministers took part in the service. The Ladies Society donated a new robe to Rev. Stephen L. Nagy. Members of the Toledo congregation came on a chartered bus to the worship service and banquet. They were led by the pastor and Miss Ethel Molnár our Board member who was the Sunday School teacher of Rev. Nagy in Toledo. Mr. Elmer E. Vargo, National Secretary represented the HRFA and Rev. Paul Kovács the Bethlen Home. 400 persons were present at the banquet. Mr. Louis R. Miller was the toastmaster. The mayor of Columbus was also present with his wife. 4
