tion Manager Dr. Tibor Köss graduated from Leigh High School in San Jose California. Her aunt and uncle came from Hungary to join the happy family by attending the commencement exercise. Congratulations and best wishes. President Beky in his opening address at our Board of Directors meeting held on April 4th and at the Board of Directors meeting of the American Hungarian Federation held on May 3rd commemorated the 30th anniversary of the Russian occupation of Hungary. President Beky was shocked to notice that there are a few Hungarians living in the free world who use this occasion for banqueting and toasting the Russian occupation troops with champagne. He claimed that this should be a day of mourning to all the freedom loving Hungarians. Dr. Koss wrote that on April 27th the Hungarians residing in the greater San Francisco area also commemorated the 30th anniversary in the fellowship hall of Stephaneum. Ft. Joseph Jaszovszky and Mr. Albert Szelde were the main speakers. We notice with great joy and pleasure that the mortgage given for the San Francisco Fellowship Hall named Stephaneum has become a central cultural meeting place for all the Hungarians. Our midwest district meeting was held on May 24th, Saturday in the Fellowship Hall of the Indiana Harbor Hungarian Reformed Church. The four National Officers made their respective department reports. The Secretary described the new insurance plans and answered many questions asked concerning our new rate book. A delicious lunch and dinner were prepared by the ladies of our local branch. We were happy to welcome as our guests the clergy and lay leaders of the Calumet area catholic and protesMrs. Olga Darnay, Manager of our Branch No. 202 in Duquesne, Pa., sponsoring parties for children and branch members. Special thanks are expressed to Dr. and Mrs. Arthur Dudwig for the warm hospitality we had the privilege to enjoy. We thank Mrs. Olga Darnay for sponsoring parties for the children of our Duquesne Branch 202. The picture shows a good attendance of children and their parents. We received another picture from Branch 202 of Robert Cross who received a B.S. degree in electrical engineering from the Louisiana State University. He was fortunate during the recession to find employment in the Westinghouse Atomic Power Laboratory. Mr. Cross married Charlene Dawn Nagy, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Charles Nagy. Mr. Nagy is a Board of Director of the HRFA. Robert Cross, Jr. graduated recently from Louisiana State University, receiving a Bachelor of Science Degree in Electrical Engineering, and is now employed at Westing- house Bettis Atomic Power Laboratory. He is married to the former Charlene Dawn Nagy, daughter of Director and Mrs. Charles Nagy, of West Mifflin, Pa. Mr. and Mrs. Cross are both members of Branch 202, Duquesne, Pa. * * * MINDSZENTY MEMORIAL SERVICES IN WASHINGTON. It was shocking news to read about the sudden and unexpected death of Cardinal Mindszenty whom the freedom loving Hungarians considered as their idol and martyr of Hungarian freedom. Cardinal Mindszenty visited our Kossuth House and encouraged us to work together irregardless to denominational affiliation as true Hungarian brothers for Hungarian freedom. The National Officers and the Home Office employees attended. the memorial mass held on May 9th in the St. Matthews Cathedral. The celebration was given by William Baum, the 16
