English Section Rt. Rev. Árpád George: From the Office of the Secretary DISTRICT MEETINGS The Midwest, New Jersey and Pennsylvania district meetings were held in the same order as I reported in the previous issue of the Fraternity. The Western Pennsylvania area district meeting was held on May 5th in the Fellowship Hall of the Pittsburgh Hungarian Reformed Church. A very delicious lunch was served by the Ladies Society of the congregation. Rev. Dr. George Csia, pastor, and Mrs. Rose Kovács, manager of our Pittsburgh branch, were excellent hosts. We had a very good attendance and for this we thank Mr. Joseph Molnár, Jr. for encouraging the branch managers belonging to his district to attend. Following the meeting and dinner dance was sponsored for the benefit of our Bethlen Home by the branches located in the Greater Pittsburgh area at the West Mifflin Holiday Inn. Mrs. Yolanda Balogh of branch 359 was the chairman, Mrs. Teresa Medve vice-chairman, Frank Yantek of branch 134 treasurer, Rose Kovács of branch 15 secretary, Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Molnár, Jr. were the counsellors of the sponsoring committee. The committee members met 12 times alternately in the home of Mr. Molnár, District Manager, and the Pittsburgh Church. President Beky gave awards to the hardest working committee members. Raffle tickets were sold by all branch managers. The large banquet room was filled to capacity. The dinner dance was attended by the National Officers, Board of Directors, District and Branch Managers, branch members and many Hungarian friends of our Federation and Bethlen Home. The William Penn fraternal organization reserved a table and Mr. Elmer Charles, president, in true fraternal spirit extended the greetings of the William Penn to the HRFA. After the audit the Committee presented a check for the amount of $2,001.60 to the Bethlen Home. The Midwest meeting was held on May 26th at the Fellowship Hall of the Indiana Harbor Reformed Church. Following the meeting the Ladies Society of Dr. Zoltán Beky, President opens the meeting. the congregation served a very delicious dinner. After the dinner branches 62, 84, 154 and 176 sponsored a Culture Night. Mrs. Margaret Paposén, pianist, played a few classical numbers. Hungarian folksongs were played by Professor George Zatai on the piano and The Committee presents a check for $2,001.60 to the Bethlen Home. Rev. Dr. Arthur Ludwig, District Manager, presented with the award by the President. 14
