The National Officers made their respective reports and answered all the questions asked by the Branch Managers.-----o—— The wife of the Rt. Rev. Dr. Zoltán Beky, President was taken to the Baltimore Johns Hopkins Hospital on February 16th for an innominate bone plastic surgery. The operation was performed by the world famous specialist hip bone surgeon, Dr. James Hughes. We hope that the successful operation will end the ten years of suffering caused by the crippling type of arthritis. We wish Mrs. Beky a speedy and complete recovery.-----o----­Mr. Paul St. Miklossy, Treasurer of our Federation, was taken to the Bethesda Suburban Hospital on Feb­ruary 4th to diagnose the cause of his irregular pulse. He was discharged from the hospital on February 11th. His physician will most likely let him return to his office on February 26th. During his illness the three National Officers shared the performance of duties of the Treasurer’s Department.-----o----­The winners of our 1972 promotional drive were: Mr. Frank Antal, Julius Simon, Mrs. Olga Darnay, Vilma Szabó, Sándor Szabadkay and Ernest Sala.-----o----­45th ANNIVERSARY OF BISHOP BEKY’S ORDINATION According to the latest report received from Tren­ton, New Jersey a thanksgiving worship service is plan­ned to be held in the Trenton Hungarian Reformed Church on June 12tli, Sunday afternoon at 4:00 o’clock to be followed at 6:00 p.m. by a testimonial banquet in recognition and acknowledgement of the 45 years of the church, civic, fraternal and national dedicated ser­vices of the Rt. Rev. Dr. Zoltán Beky, President of the Hungarian Reformed Federation of America. Bishop Beky served the Trenton congregation for 37 years. Under his pastorate the congregation grew in member­ship and under his able leadership the religious educa­tional facilities were modernized and a new Fellowship Hall was built. Dr. Beky is Bishop Emeritus of the Hun­garian Reformed Church of America and a member of the Bishop’s Council of the same denomination. He was made a lifelong honorary citizen of the City of Trenton, the capital of New Jersey State. The chief honorary sponsors of the anniversary celebration are: The Vice President of the United States, the governor of New Jersey State, the mayor of Trenton, the Rt. Rev. Dezső Abraham, bishop of the HRCA, the Bishop’s Council of the Synod, the deans of the classes, the National Officers and Board of Directors of the Hungarian Re­formed Federation of America. As we congratulate our beloved President for his past 45 years of dedicated and distinguished services we are happy to announce that we shall be in a position to give more detailed informa­tion about the anniversary celebration in the next issue of the Fraternity.----o----­DISTRICT MEETINGS: May 5th, 10:30 a.m., Pittsburgh District Meeting in the hall of the Pittsburgh Hungarian Reformed Church. At 6 o’clock in the evening a dinner and dance will be sponsored by the Pennsylvania branches at the West Mifflin Holiday Inn for the benefit of the Bethlen Home. On June 2, 10:30 a.m., New Jersey District Meet­ing at the New Brunswick Hungarian Reformed Church. In the evening a New Jersey Hungarian Fraternal Day dinner and dance will be sponsored by the New Jersey branches in the New Brunswick Hungarian American Athletic Club. Dinner served at 7:30. Conference on European Security and Troop Reduction in Washington, D. C. Bishop Beky, chairman of the panel discussion, greets and introduces General Lyman L. Lemnitzer, former Chief of Staff and former NATO Commander. Dr. Szaz Zoltán, professor and Executive Secretary of the American Institute on Problems of European Unity. 14
