FRATERNITY 3 from leading churchmen — how it is possible that Hungarian Reformed people have such a marvelous and great organization as the Hungarian Reformed Federation of America in such a short time. Even in American history five or six decades are, relatively speaking, like the day of yesterday. I said we are on the midway of our history. IT IS THE TIME TO MOVE AHEAD, TO MAKE OUR FEDERATION REALLY KNOWN, NOT ONLY AMONGST THE HUNGARIANS, BUT IN THE COMMUNITY OF OUR AMERICAN AND CANADIAN SISTER DENOMINATIONS! And not only to make known, but to offer our own Federation as a contribution, as a helping hand. There is not a single Reformed or Presbyterian fraternal organization comparable to our own. OUR FUTURE DEPENDS VERY MUCH UPON THE VISION OF OUR LEADERS, UPON THE FAITHFULNESS AND LOYALTY OF THIS GENERATION. The vision of our fathers in creating the Federation was greatly blessed by Almighty God. But we cannot live any more out of the past glories and at the expenses of yesterday’’s generation. Our vision will have to be carried out with courage and willingness to serve. I am convinced that the time has come when an educated, intelligent and courageous generation grew up in our midst. Deeply rooted in American patriotism and culture, deeply rooted in Hungarian Reformed, religion as their spiritual tradition — OUR FUTURE WILL BE GLORIOUS AND TRIUMPHANT IF WE DARE TO SEE VISIONS AND ARE COURAGEOUS TO CARRY THEM OUT . . . AND DARE TO OPEN NEW FRONTIERS OF OUR SERVICE AND WORK. DR. ZOLTÁN BEKY, President “THIS ABOVE ALL: TO THINE OWNSELF BE TRUE, AND IT MUST FOLLOW, AS THE NIGHT THE DAY, THOU CANST NOT THEN BE FALSE TO ANY MAN.” William Shakespeare
