FRATERNITY 5 JOSEPH KECSKEMETHY: ITEMS OF INTEREST WE ARE IN OUR NEW HOME OFFICE In the last issue of our “Fraternity” we notitfied our general membership, our field workers and all those whom it may have concerned that we sold the Kossuth House, our former headquarters, and that by August 15, 1961, we would be relocated in a leased office building, uninterruptedly carrying on our fraternal work. This has already taken place. Now that we are settled in our new offices, we should like to make known once again to our members, field workers and friends that from now on they are to address all communications to us as follows: Hungarian Reformed Federation of America Dupont Circle Building, Suite 1201 1346 Connecticut Avenue, N. W. Washington 6, D. C. With this second notice regarding the sale of the Kossuth House and of our moving to our new home office, we should also like to clarify certain facts which in recent weeks were misinterpreted, either intentionally or unintentionally, both verbally and in writing. We do not wish to mention names, or to repeat the misleading statements, because our membership should be guided by the whole truth and the only truth regarding our decision to sell the Kossuth House . . . which was plainly stated in the July issue of our official paper as follows: “The Kossuth House was not sold because we had to sell it. We sold it because in the ‘embassy hunt’ we received the highest possible price for it . . . We sold it because we felt that from a good selling price of our old Kossuth House we will be able to buy or build a more modern and even more suitable building for our great fraternal work." To further clarify the facts, we wish to state that this was the only official communique released by us concerning the sale of the Kossuth House. Therefore, all other statements, verbal or written, made before the announcement appeared in our official paper, were unauthorized and we are not responsible for either their source or appearance. Although the reasons stated in the “Fraternity” regarding the sale should be very clear to all, may we again emphasize that our only aim in changing headquarters is to further the progress of our organization and to better serve our membership. We are already looking around for appropriate lots in case we should build and also for buildings which might prove suitable as our future home office. The steps taken and the decisions made toward progress will be done in -the spirit of our founders — with faith, hope and charity, and with unshakable belief in our motto: “If God be with us, who can be against us?”
