FRATERNITY 25 by the authorities of the State of Pennsylvania, who officially declared that our Children’s Horae is the best humanitarian institution in the state. The other sub-committee examined the Home for the Aged, and found order and cleanliness everywhere, and above that, satisfaction among the people of the Home. Similarly, the examination of the farm filled the hearts of the Committee members with gratification. The following recommendations were brought before the Convention: A vote of sincere thanks should be given to Superintendent Joseph Kecskemethy and his wife for their faithful services, and their salary should be raised to $6,000 a year; in similar manner a raise of salary would be recommended by the Supreme Council for Louis Varga, the Overseer of the Home for the Aged, for whose faithful services the Convention also should express its sincere thanks. The Committee also requests that the Board of Directors provide for a salary raise for Dr. George Uzonyi. Finally, the Committee recommended that the Convention grant to both officers of the Bethlen Home the usual release from their responsibilities. The Convention learned with joyful satisfaction of the impressions of the Committee, also experienced by the members of the Convention during their stay here, and unanimously passed the resolution increasing the salary of the Superintendent to $6,000.00 a year. The rest of the recommendations are referred to the proper authorities. 76. The Committee recommended that the expenses of the two delegates from the Federation attending the Bethlen Home Board of Managers meetings be paid from the Expense Fund of the Federation. The Convention accepted the resolution. 77. The Committee recommended that the church delegates of the Board of Managers receive $10.00 per diem allowance during their meetings and traveling expenses from the Treasury of the Home, with board and lodging provided in the Home. The Convention unanimously accepted this recommendation and the other smaller modifications of the By-Laws, which are in the minutes of the Committee and hereto attached. 78. Joseph Kecskemethy, Superintendent, on behalf of himself and his wife, thanked the Committee and Convention for the fine commendation and acknowledgement given to him, and gladly promised their continued faithful service. Similarly, Paul Szentmiklossy, District Manager, expressed his thanks with sincere words for the resolution concerning him. The Convention asked God's continued blessings upon these faithful stewards.
