A Canadian Magyar Monthly for the enlightenment and entertainment of Hungarians, edited by Dr. A. Czakó, published by The United Church of Canada. TÁROGATÓ Sixth year, No. 6. December, 1943. CONTENTS. This paper tries to make its readers understand and love Canada. It is for this purpose that we have turned to the past and brought the first instalment from Mrs. Jameson’s most valuable and delightful book: Winter Studies and Summer Rambles in Canada. The first chapted is on Toronto with additional notes by the Editor.— Our second article is on Justice, with special reference to the relationship of Nations. It suggests that there is no real justice without the idea of God. In the NOTES there is a tribute to heroic Leningrad; w'e deal with honey and vitamin C; give the contents of W. D. Herridge’s book, under the title Production for Consumption; turn to Nature by telling something about chrysanthemums and about the renewed interest in bird-life; remember an old Hungarian painter who lived at Hampton Court and painted for Queen Mary II; mention an American Hungarian painter (Miklós SUBA) whose paintings are exhibited in the Art Gallery in Toronto; there is a report on the Christmas Fair of the Church of All Nations in Toronto and on the Annual Convention of the Democratic Hungarians of Canada. There are poems by Alexander FINTA and Denes SEBESTYEN. We conclude the paper with the editor’s Notes to The Tragedy of Man. ★ ★ ★ GOD S/l VE THE KING.
