Facts and data from the past of the 800 year old village Chapters I- III of this study that deals with village history discloses the past and the history of Tengőd, a village that has one and a half thousand inhabitants, and which was attached to Tolna County in 1950. The author used original archival sources from the documents it was first mentioned in writing up to 1950. when the village was annexed to Somogy County. The first chapter deals with the local events, which are originally connected with the history of Tolna County. According to the monography, the readers can get to know the climatic and natural conditions and the population of the settlement in further chapters. The writer mainly deals with the economic history after the resettlement of the village (1714). in the framework of which he shows the local industry, agriculture, cultivation, grape-and fruit growing, horticulture, animal husbandry of Tengőd. The author completed his study with several supplements, original documents, pictures, photos, illustrations, data and diagrams. In the unpublished parts of this volume, education, cultural life, the civil organizations, church-religious life, activities connected with village economy, and the election from 1848 to 1950 were described.
