The author undertook to present the Rákóczi’s insurrection in detail, which is a meaningful period of our history, in the framework of the study he shows the Kuruc brigadier’s life and military activities, which were related to Tolna County in several aspects. In our days we need honourable ideals to find the healthy balance between the fashion of pushing people off their pedestal and creating a myth, which needs an objective view of history and a proper criticism of sources. The writer has done a solid work to draw the most complete picture about Béri Balogh Adám. Accordingly he aimed to use all the available and utilizable information for his study. The reader can find a lot of sources in this study that the author notices fairly, and he often quotes complementary knowledge in the footnotes. The writer commemorates of this national hero of freedom who was executed 300 years ago worthily.
