Painted caskets, objects There are many elements in the folk furniture painting concept, since there is many more furniture creations on wood materials in which the posterity can find a delight. The Calvinist church in Szentgyörgyvölgy in the Zala shire is an example of an ornate painted coffer churches, it’s entire ceiling consists from coffer. Painted carved gates, painted timbering can also be found in the areas inhabited by Hungarians. The front and side boards of chariots were also painted with flowers, paints, and the initials of the lord of the house were on it. Painted mirror frames, picture frames, wooden salt shakers with flowers, mallets or washboards were all enriched with rich Hungarian motifs. Most commonly mentioned object in the folk culture, Hungarian folk poetry and traditions is the painted tulip chest. 27
