143. évfolyam (2006) Supplementum I. 29 Traumatic eyelid injuries treated at our Department - experiences of the last 5 years Attila Czakó,1 Mária Szendi,1 László Molnár,2 Zoltán Sohajda1 1Gyula Kenezy Hospital of Hajdu-Bihar County, Debrecen, Ophthalmie Department 2University of Debrecen Medical and Health Science Centre, Department of Trauma and Manual Surgery Purpose: to present a retrospective study of case histories of patients with eyelid injuries treated at the Ophthalmic Department of our hospital. Patients and methods: We evaluated the data of 321 eyelid-injured patients treated in our Department between 1 July 2000 and 30 June 2005. Results: Injuries of the eye-protective systems were more frequent in the case of male patients (male: 76%; female: 24%). With adult males (above 18 years) the most frequent reason was violent actions (17%), while with adult females it was domestic accidents (27%). For younger patients (0-18) the most frequent causes were domestic accidents in the case of boys, and animal-induced injuries in the case of girls. Conclusion: Injuries of the eye-protective systems and their symptoms can be cured effectively with the application of careful and extensive treatment. Our experiences and data may serve to supplement the International Trauma Register, which mainly deals with the terminology and treatment methods of eyeball injuries. s Uj technikai lehetőségek a vitreoretinális sebészetben Czumbel Norbert Semmelweis Egyetem, Szemészeti Klinika, Budapest A szerzők összefoglalják az utóbbi években a vitreoretinális sebészetbe bevezetett technikai újdonságokat.
