lokális recidívák, valamint az igen ritka távoli metasztázisok kezelésére szolgálnak.11

Annak ellenére, hogy a medulloepitheliomák kétharmada szövettanilag malignus, ezen csoport mortalitása is csak 10%.3 Úgy tűnik, hogy a prognózist az extrascleralis terjedés határozza meg.

Az 1892 óta ismert és leírt medulloepithelioma ritkán előforduló, az esetek többségében benignus, elsősorban a corpus ciliare nem pigmentált epitheliumából kiinduló tumor; klinikai diagnózisa nem egyértelmű, inkább szövettani módszerekkel lehetséges.

A Toxocara-uveitist utánzó eset szövettani módszerekkel diagnosztizált, retinából nagyon ritkán kiinduló, pigmentált medulloepitheliomának bizonyult.
