Süveges I.: Subacute posterior keratoconus

A formerly unknown subacute form of posterior keratoconus is described. The histological alterations are similar to the subacute keratoconus. Since the subacute form implies a progression of the disease, a possibility exists that the posterior keratoconus is not a stationary congenital disorder, but belongs to the entity of progressive keratectasia.

I. Süveges: Keratoconus posticus subacutus

Beschrieben wird die bisher unbekannte, subakute Form des Keratoconus posticus. Das histologische Bild des Krankheitsbildes ist dem des Keratoconus subacutus ähnlich. Die subakute Form bedeutet die Progression der Krankheit, woraus sich die Möglichkeit ergibt, daß der Keratoconus posticus — im Gegensatz mit der bisherigen Auffassung — keine stationär kongenitale Krankheit ist, sondern in die Gruppe der progressiven Keratektasien gehört.
