К e 11 e s у, А. : The three principles of the sensory perception according to Helmholtz. After a short historical review, selected passages of Helmholtz’ fundamental work on „Physiological Optics” are cited in Hungarian translation and comments added. Three important principles of the sensory perception — valid also at present time — are cited : 1. We imagine in the field of our vision always the presence of such objects as they ought to be in order to make the same impression on our nervous system as while using our eyes under the accustomed normal conditions. 2. We leave out of consideration all details of the sensory impressions which are of no importance in respect of the recognition of the external world. 3. Nothing is accepted as sensation which may be surmounted] in our observation with the motifs gained by experience and may be turned in the contrary. The recognition of the external world by means of the sense organs is a subconscious process, but it resembles to the methods of the conscious obtainment of experiences : 1. observation, 2. experiment and 3. conclusion. In his exposition, however, the author does not arrive to the dialectical materialism.
