period. Many of today’s churches preserve medieval elements in ground plan, in the materials of construction, or in decorations. Our touristy itinerary in Ugocea county will make a stop in Halmeu, where we’ll visit a monument of ecclesiastic architecture, The Calvinist Church, first mentioned in 1322, in the papal tithes. The exact date of the building of the edifice is unknown, but the inscription on the tabernacle from 1417 says it should have been ready at the beginning of the 15th century. The building preserves the medieval shape, although it suffered several transformations over the centuries. The Greek-Catholic church “The Ascension of Lord” of Porumbesti, was built in 1836, in classical style, and the Roman Catholic Church of “Sf Emeric” is older than the first one, being renovated in 1767. It’s possible that some parts of the medieval church have been reused. The building of the Roman Catholic Church “The Holy Family” of Cidreag was originally a simple house for living. The Calvinist Church of Dobolţ was built in the 19th century, around the former wooden church, demolished after work ended. 138 Biserica romano-catolicä din Cidreag Римо-католицька церква у селі Cidreag Cidreag római katolikus templom The roman-catholic church of Cidreag
