We can trace the progress and continuity of Christianity, enjoy special moments of relaxation offered by the thermal healing waters, the energizing lakes and forests. The original culture of these places is marked by the multi-ethnic composition of the population. Traditions and customs of Romanians, Ukrainians, Hungarians and Schwabs live in harmony. There are annual festivals and events that come to highlight the traditions of these places. Villages impress through architecture and history, as well as through the beauty of nature. Traces of medieval architecture, both the lay and the religious, are visible throughout the former county of Ugocea. Defence fortifications were built on heights.
