People from Oaş would buy clothes when they went in the fairs of Ukraine, Hust and Teceu, to sell their products. Thus, the white kerchief, embroidered by hand was replaced with the silk kerchief with floral motifs; the apron of embroiled cloth made with the weaving loom was changed with the silk apron (“zadia”) with floral motifs, and the skirt (“sucna”, “pindileul”) was made of industrial material, with plenty floral motifs. The urban fashion entered the rural style with a new cloth item, the “viganăul” (a sort of sleeveless dress). This fashion was launched by a famous ballerina, Vigano, in Vienna, at the beginning of the 19th century. Even man costume was changed in accordance with the urban fashion. The loose sleeve is added the cuff, ending with a “pumnuşel”, the straw of the hat was replaced by black cloth; woolen clothes were then made of cloth. With all these changes in clothing along time, we can state that the typology in cuts and the placement of ornaments have remained unchanged. The oldest type of woman shirt had Costum oşenesc.
