Benedictine) in Sárvár, during the second half of the eleventh century, being one of the oldest religious buildings of the area. As patrons of the monastery, the Gutkeled kindred endowed it, as the customs of the time required, with several donations of land, mostly located near the abbey. Cămin was one of such a donation, offered by the family, being first mentioned in 1217 as an estate of Sárvár Monastery. Apparently, at the beginning of the 14th century, there were two villages named Cămin, both belonging to the abbey of Sárvár. During the first half of 14th century, the monastery at Sárvár was no longer functioning, its role as center of the newly formed Báthori family, was taken over by Ecsed locality and by the domain subsequently set up around the stronghold with the same name. The neighborhood of the Báthori family with the nobles of the Kaplony kindred (especially the Károlyi family) rose a lot of rivalries and conflicts, which become particularly acute with time. Cămin always played an important role in the conflicts between these families, being situated at the border between the two areas. In 1490, the Báthori family, with quite an army of 200 people, of whom 40 was from Cămin, attacked Carei, the heart of the Károlyi family. Documents also preserve the memory of a vengeance act, with comic elements too, rising from the rivalry of the two noble families: in 1517, the Báthoris sent one official (the administrator) Cruce Kereszt Cross 17
