Pápa Miklós: A kereskedelmi gyűjtemény megalapítása

MIKLÓS PÁPA THE ESTABLISHING THE COMMERCE COLLECTION The establishing of the collection was preceded by half a decade's preparation. At the beginning this only meant comments in the press about the necessity of establishing a Commerce Museum. Step by step, as the possibliltv of realization came into focus, it became practical work. Of course the specialized press devoted most space to the idea of establishing a special museum: the papers of the Home Trade: "Belkereskedelem", "Kirakat", "Belkereskedelmi Minisztérium Házi Híradója" and the monthly of Retail Trade Employee's "Mérleg". At the time preceding the foundation the principles of the future became clear. Experimental collecting started in order to disclose what could be found, what kind of material with retail trade aspects there is in other museums (documents, photos). The arranging of the collection began in July 1970, but as there was not enough space in the museum on Castle Hill the Ministry made some available on the premisses of the enterprise KERIPAR. Due to the generosity of the Ministry the showrooms of the museum took shape and the first exhibition of the collection of the history of retail trade was opened in 1973. 31
