A CSÍKI SZÉKELY MÚZEUM ÉVKÖNYVE 2007-2008 313-346 WANEK FERENC A BARÓTI-BRASSÓI-HÁROMSZÉKIMEDENCESOR SZÉNTARTALMÚ PLIOCÉN ÜLEDÉKEINEK KUTATÁSTÖRTÉNETE II. rész: a XX. század eleje, Erich JEKELIUS monográfiájának megjelenéséig Abstract: [Research History of the Lignit-bearing Pliocene Deposits in the Basin Chain Barót-Brassó-Háromszék (Hung.; Rom.: Baraolt-Brasov-Trei Scaune)] In this study we will continue the research history of the Pliocene sediments of the interior basin row of the Carpathian bend area. On one side we will present the development of the mining that revealed these formations. On the other hand how the opinion of geologists was divided through Imre LORENTHEY 's stratigraphie identification, who either accepted or denied the new image and how they argumented their views. We've talked of how the palaeontological study of vertebrates and molluscs advanced. The data interprétable thruough region borders from vertebrate fossil associations supported Imre LORENTHEY 's theory. The monographic processing of molluscs delayed, and was only ready at the end of the discussed period. Erich JEKELIUS'S impressing study's result had the principle edification that because of the endemic character of fossil associations, this fossil group - although confirming - isn't the best way for the time correlation from the interior and exterior of the Carpathians. Rezumat: [Istoricul cercetärii depozitelor pliocene cu cärbuni din complexul de bazine Baraolt-Brasov-Trei Scaune (rom.; magh.: Barót-Brassó-Háromszék)] In lucrarea de fatà continuäm prezentarea istoricului cercetârilor depozitelor pliocene din bazinele interne ale Curburii Carpatilor. Pe de o parte, schitäm evolutia mineritului, activitatea care asigurä accesul la studiul depozitelor vizate, pe de altâ parte, prezentäm evolutia ideilor stratigrafice divergente, ca urmare a preeizärii fäcute de Imre LÖRENTHEY, respectiv, bazele de argumentare ale opiniilor pro si contra. Am arätat progresul studiilor privind faunele de vertebrate fosile. Fosilele acestui grup de organisme, utilizabili în coreläri stratigrafice interregionale, au confirmât conceptia lui LORENTHEY. Prelucrarea monograficâ a materialului paleomalacologic s-a lâsat asteptatä, fiind rezolvatä la finele intervalului istoric tratat, prin lucrarea de exceptie a lui Erich JEKELIUS, însa rezultate ei ne demonstreazä, cä acest grup de organisme fosile, desi prezintä demente stratigrafice concludente - prin pronuntatul lui caracter endemic - nu este cheia cea mai potrivitä corelärii interbazinale pentru domeniile intra- si extracarpatice.
