Az ősnyomtatványok és a 16. századi nyomtatványok katalógusa Abstract: [The Hungarian Old Book Collection of the Szekler Museum from Ciuc. I. Catalogue of the incunabula and of the printed works from the 16 th century! The Hungarian old book collection of the Szekler Museum from Ciuc (Rom.; Hung.: Csík) contains 148 of edited books until the year of 1711, respectively printed books anywhere in the world, in Hungarian or in any language, on Hungary's territory, respectively foreign books edited in another language than Hungarian, which partly or entirely are the works of Hungarian authors. Among these, five are incunabula, 42 are printed books from the 16 l century, 83 of them appeared in the 17 th century and 18 books are from 1701-1711. The most part of the Hungarian old books come from the libraries of the three ancient catholic institutions of the throne of Ciuc: the Franciscan Abbey (108 books), the Roman-Catholic Gymnasium (13) and "The Saint Mary's" Congregation (8) from $umuleu-Ciuc (Rom.; Hung.: Csíksomlyó). 17 publications entered into the collection of the museum between 1981-1982 and 1994 by acquisition, and two by donation. The author ascertains that the first information about the Hungarian old books of the Franciscan library from $umuleu-Ciuc are dated between 1727 and 1734, when 25 titles are mentioned in the inventories of the abbey. Their systematic research began in the second half of the 19 th century, after publishing the three volumes of the monumental Hungarian national bibliography Régi Magyar Könyvtár (RMK) between 1879-1896 by SZABÓ Károly and HELLEBRANT Árpád. The first summary catalogue of the old hungarian books of the library from Çumuleu-Ciuc was accomplished in 1885 by Miksa GLÓSZ, teacher and librarian of the Roman-Catholic Gymnasium. In the 19-20* centuries, a particular contribution in identifying and publishing these books had the prestigious researchers of the Hungarian old books Jenő ÁBEL, László FEJÉRPATAKY, Béla BARÁTH, Zsigmond JAKÓ and Ádám DANKANITS. In the 40's of the twentieth century, the canonical priest Béla BARÁTH, head of the „Batthyaneum" Library from Alba Iulia, was the first researcher who had separated, on the occasion of elaborating the list of the incunabula kept in the Transylvanian collections, for the editorial of the great German catalogue Gesamtkatalog der Wiegendrucke, the old Hungarian book from the other values of the Franciscan library. On that occasion also, the books were labeled with a specific quota of Hungarica (Hung.). After 1980, along with processing the fund of the old books of the museum, were identified and described the Hungarian old books of the collection. New titles were discovered,
