ABSTRACTS DOMOKOSNÉ SZÁLAI, ZSUZSANNA: THE PHOTO ALBUM MADE IN HONOUR OF LÁSZLÓ JAKOVICH, LORD LIEUTENANT OF SOMOGY COUNTY (1885). THE DATABASE OF THE BODY OF OFFICERS OF SOMOGY COUNTY The database of the body of officers of Somogy County in 1885 is the continuation of the source publication about the biography of count László Jankovich of Pribér and Vuchin, Somogy County’s Lord Lieutenant published in the previous years. This writing is a prosopographical review which contains biographical and archontological information about the people figuring in the ornate photo album representing the body of officers of the county. The album was given to László Jankovich during the jubilee ceremony organized for the silver jubilee of his lord lieutenancy. RÉCSEI, BALÁZS: FROM THE HISTORY OF THE KOSSUTH STATUE IN KAPOSVÁR In the study and the following source publication the author delineates the precedents of the county- and country-wide statue raising that influenced the history of the origin of Kossuth’s statue in Kaposvár. The details in the study have not been mentioned before in the local historiography of the capital of Somogy. The study familiarizes us with the local political discussions which were artistic or presented as artistic. We obtain an insight into the contemporary financial troubles which were needed to fight down for the realization of statues like the one that stands on the main square of Kaposvár and which required such remarkable financial sacrifices. The work of János Kopits, a sculptor from Kaposvár, was placed into the centre of the capital of Somogy County, it reminds us of Lajos Kossuth and the revolution and war of independence in 1848-1849 for more than a hundred years. VONYÓ, ANITA: DETAILS FROM THE DIARY OF JÁNOS CSENDES IMPERIAL ROYAL MILITARY COOK (1910-1915) (SOURCE PUBLICATION) There are only a few sources among the hand-written popular ones from the time of the First World War which connect to the feeding of the soldiers. The third part of this diary is a cookery book, or rather a collection of recipes, which was written down by an officer’s cook. The organized conditions of cooking evolved in the Austro-Hungarian Monarchy’s army at the end of the 19th century, and together with this appeared the recipes which meant the basis of cooking for the fighting soldiers behind the front lines of the First World War. The nature of the menu in essence was the same as in the common army of the Monarchy. NÜBL, JÁNOS: THE POLITICAL PUBLIC LIFE OF SOMOGY COUNTY DURING THE CRISIS IN THE JULY OF 1914 In this study the author presents the influence of the wartime crisis (“stalking war”) on the political public life of Somogy County. The elaboration of this subject — besides the state-wide outlook - rests on the confidential documents of the Lord Lieutenant of Somogy County and on the reports of the two contemporary daily papers of the county. 331
