so far. We can form an image of the county's political movements of 1848/49, among other things the circumstances under which László Madarász and Gáspár Noszlopy were elected delegates, the activity of the first popular representatives. The supplement provides data about the number and distribution of those entitled to vote. Attila Szabó: Everyday Life at the Hungarian Royal State „Rezső" Civil Boys' School in Szigetvár during the Ministry of Kuno Klebelsberg Beyond the presentation of the everyday life at the Hungarian royal state „Rezső" civil boys' school in Szigetvár, the essay shows - by the example of the school which can often be generalized- how and to what extent the claim for the complete restoration of the historic Hungary, irredentism and revisionism was present in the everyday life of the schools in the 1920-ies. As a result of our research we can state that with its many-coloured life the civil boys' school of Szigetvár not only continued the educational traditions of the dualistic era and the socialization process that started in the family, it also added new elements to the school's life by using the results of 20 lh century pedagogy, the new possibilities provided by technology and adapting itself to the political aims of the era. Having surveyed all this, we did not find a single field which had not been inspired by the aim to restore the historic Hungary, the faith and willing to act for it. The differences in the different spheres of school life showed only in the extent and the stress of the ground the idea of revisionism gained in them. Anita Vonyó: „Like a Madman who Broke his Chain... " The Last Great Spring Flood of the River Kapos and its Effects on Kaposvár in 1947 The essay evokes the last great flood of the river Kapos, the river of the town of Kaposvár, in 1947. Before the final controlling work carried out between 1954 and 1960 the river often destroyed the lower parts of the town with its floods. The floods caused huge financial damage in every case, both to the population who suffered them and to the town as well. The large amount of snow that fell at the end of the winter of 1946/47 presaged the coming of the natural catastrophy. The unfavourable weather conditions and the neglected river-bed together caused the water level to rise to a critical extent in the early spring of 1947. The suddenly overs wollen Kapos poured onto the town on 6 lh March 1947, paralyzing its road and railway traffic. After the flood passed, - lacking the financial means - only temporary solutions were born which could stop the possible new attack of the river only for a short time. László Szántó: The Program of the First Imre Nagy Cabinet and the Local Councils, 1953 On the basis of the examples from Somogy and Baranya Counties, the essay aims to find the answer to what reaction the new government program announced on 4 ,h July 1953 had among the local councils. It follows and gives a short analysis of the attitude of the local organs to the political guideline of the „new period" and to the first measures of the government and Prime Minister Imre Nagy with the help of the documents of council and party organs and of the government. On the basis of the explored sources the author arrived at the conclusion that the majority of the councils received the steps taken towards the content and methodological reformation of the policy of the socialist state with some embarrassment. In most cases they tried to meet the central demands only with delay and reluctance. All this is partly understandable, on the one hand because in the previous three years the leaders of the administrative apparatus had been changed in several waves. On the other hand, the local councils, who had been used to a strictly centralized administrative political direction, were not able to use the possibilities provided by a relative independence.
