Rövid tartalmi összefoglaló angol nyelven
• September 28: Working in cooperation with the Móra Ferenc Museum, we opened an anniversary memorial exhibit to János Kass in the gallery that bears his name. • September: We assisted textile designer Flóra Remsei with her exhibit, held at the Castle Museum in Gödöllő, near Budapest. • October: The top slot at the Stamp Day exhibition held in Buda Castle went to our display - Hungarian Postal Service Marks 140th Anniversary. • December 3: We opened an 8-tableau stamp exhibit in the entry hall of the No. 1 Post Office in Pécs, focused on portrayals of the birth of Jesus in the stamps of the world. • Last but not least, we assisted the Hungarian Homing Pigeon Society with an exhibition connected to its centenary celebrations. Scientific work The articles published in our 2006 Yearbook, in which each of our museum researchers covered a separate subject, served as the backbone for their publications. In addition, they conducted research and prepared preliminary studies for exhibitions. We need to specifically mention the celebration held jointly with the Professional Association of Postal Workers, at which Ildikó Makkai-Várkonyi and András Bálint Kapi gave presentations that even outsiders found noteworthy. For this same joint event, Ibolya Bartók conducted an independent research project and prepared a study on the various phases in the history of the 140-year-old postal service. The latter was published in the October special issue of Posta, the publication of the Hungarian Postal Service and the Professional Association of Postal Workers. The Association to Assist Network Developers and Safeguard their Traditions, which has put down the rules governing research for artefacts and memorabilia enjoying museum foundation support and included in its collection profile, has contacted us to propose cooperation. We marked World Information Society Day, called World Telecommunications Day before 2006, in Miskolc in 2007, instead of at our traditional venue, the museum in Diósd. We linked the event to the opening of the Tele-Archives. The number of participants in related programmes was significantly higher than anticipated. This year, as in the past, both of our museums participated actively in the Museum Mayday festivities with the number of visitors to our tents housing the displays rising year after year. In 2007, pamphlets, leaflets, other publications, and gifts donated by the founders and their supporters, played a significant role in the sizable increase in visitors. The number of visitors attending our traditional Museum Nights was more than in 2006 even though we did not receive central support from the ministry and the museum budgets were limited.
