Pygmephorus equitrichosus sp, n. Measurements: - Length: 332-365 ^, breadth: 160-1 74 ju,. Habitus: -"Propodosoma large, strikingly wide, but narrowing behind bothridium. Hysterosomatic margins straight, posteriorly rounded. Dorsal side (Fig. 1): Sensillus shaped like a plum-stone, Exobothridial hair extremely long (90 }x), interbothridial hair about twice longer than rostral seta. Hairs 03, e^, fj of hysterosoma considerably longer than the others, and approximately of equal length (100-110 ji). Hairs e 2 and fg slightly spinosely incrassate, hair e 2 slightly longer (22 ju) than f 2 . Segment H with 3 pairs of characteristic, ciliate hairs of equal size (36 ja). Distance between hairs h^ equalling that between hi-h 2 , hair I13 considerably removed. Ventral side (Fig. 2): Anterior sternal plate with very large foveolae. Hairs la and lb short, hair lc bifurcate, hairs 2a and 2b longer, hair 2c thickest of all. Posterior sternal plate also with some larger foveolae on both sides of sternum. Distance between the individual members of hair 3a equalling that between hairs 3b; hair 4a projecting beyond insertion of hair 4b, Legs: Tibiotarsus of leg I with equally thick and longc|j and(| 2 . Genu without incrassate hair. Femur of leg II (Fig. 3) with hair dF long, displaying 4-5 robust lateral cilia; hair ld"F thin, smooth, short. Tibia of leg IV (Fig. 4) with completely smooth and spiniform hair lv"T. Material examined: Holotype: N. Am. 1; 5 Ex. Paratypes (2 Ex.: T-1723-75: HNHM; 2 Ex..: USNM; 1 Ex.: MHNG, collected together with the holotype). Paratype: 1 Ex.: Figs. 1-4: Pygmephorus equitrichosus sp. n. 1: Dorsal side, 2: Ventral side, 3: Femur of leg II, 4: Leg IV. The various Pygmephorus species being very similar in appearance, only specific features will be referred to at the description of the dorsal side of individual species.
