area. The follicles fill out the area between the caeca and the ventral sucker. The extensive measurements of the oral and ventral suckers are also specific features. Holotype : slide 1/240 (Locality: Ghum; date of collecting: 20 April, 1967; coll.: Gy. TOPÁL), deposited in the Parasitological Collection of the Hungarian Natural History Museum, Budapest. Paratype : slide I/240b, deposited as above. Prosthodendrium sp . - (Pig. 16) Host: Taphozous melanopogon (Bhu.); Localization: intestinum; Intensity: 1 specimen. Measurements (in yu): Body length: 1210; greatest width: 800; oral sucker: 153x153; ventral sucker: 96x102; testes: 249-l60x 208-160; ovary: 153x83; prostatic complex: 124x187; eggs: 19x9. Diagnosis: A medium-sized fluke with pyriform body. Integument covered with spines. Oral sucker subterminal . Pharynx followed by a long oesophagus. Caeca terminating at testes. Rounded testes situated in front of acetabulum. Large prostatic complex lying between testes. Sphaerical ovary located preacetabularly , laterally from the acetabulum. Vitellary glands between oral sucker and testes. Uteral whorls occupying postacetabular portion of body. This species stands near the bat trematode Prosthodendrium lep- tocoelium (Ogata, 1942), by the preacetabularly situated ovary, the position of the vitellary glands, the measurements of the suckers, and the genital organs. However, the ovary of P. lep- tocoelium is in a median position, but laterally in the Indian exemplar. The prostatic complex of P. leptocoelium is far from the acetabulum (the ovary is between the prostatic complex and the acetabulum), in our Indian specimen the vesicula seminalis is situated dorsally of the ventral sucker, and touches it. The measurements of eggs differ also, because the eggs of P. lepto coelium are 26-27x 15, the eggs of the Indian exemplar 23x12 u.
