Parasit. Hung. 3. 23-32.1970 The Occurrence in Hungary and the Systematical Problems of Two Species of the Genus Rubenstrema Dollfus, 1949 (Trematodes) Dr. István MATSKÁSI Zoological Department of the Hungarian Natural History Museum, Budapest During the course of the helminthological examination of Hungarian shrew (Soricidae) species, several specimens of the trematodan Rubenstrema exasperatum (Rudolphi, 1819), already known from the fauna, and of R. opisthovitellinus (Soltys, 1954), new for Hungary, have been found. Although both species occur rather frequently in Europe, the problems of their systematical position and relegation to higher taxonomic categories are still not definitely closed. Systematic position and diagnosis of Rubenstrema exasperatum Plagiorghiidae emend. Ward, 1917; Opisthoglyphinae Dollfus, 1949; Rubenstrema Dollfus, 1949• Rubenstrema exasperatum (Rudolphi, 1819) Syn.: Distomum exasperatum Rud.,1819; Distoma rubens Dujardin, 1845; Distomum exasperatum forma „A" et „B" Szidat,1928; Opisthoglyphe exasperatum Dollfus ,1949; Plagiorchis microti Soltys, 1949; Plagiorchis exasperatus Soltys, 1952; Dolichosaccus exasperatum Schaldybin,1964. 1 In his monograph, YAMAGUTI lists this species under the name Brachylaema exasperata, but this generic assignment is obviously based on a misunderstanding.
