Seventeen thousand meters of historical source/Introduction of the main archives

MAIN ARCIIIVL UNIT XXXV - DOCUMLNTS STORED IN TIIL ARCHIVES OF mi. Hi 'NOARIAN \\ SOCIALIST PARTY (HSWP - MSZMP) The documents of the Hungarian Workers' Party (MDP) and the MSZMP Pest County Committee, the district and town committees and their base organizations, some plants, institutional and company party committees, party education, and that of the Pest County Headquarters of Workers' Guard and its lower level organizations got into the archive were sorted here. They range is irom 1948 to 1989. We have kept the original archival order of the almost 500 linear meter-documents. MAIN ARCIIIVI: UNIT XXXVI - DOCUMENTS OF IIIF COUNTY COUNCIL The sorted and organized documents of the Pest County Council established in 1990 and those of its Offices have not been archived yet. MAIN ARCIIIVI-; UNIT XXXVII - DOCUMLNTS OF TOWN AND VILLACF LOCAL COUNCILS The representative boards of town and settlement reports were located into this main archive starting from their establishment in 1990. Currently the reports had been introduced to the county administration office until 2000 are taken into the Archives. The reports of representative boards of towns and villages are stored completely and in alphabetical order in the archives that makes researches easier. The complete volume of the archival material arrived up to now include about 200 linear meters. At the end of otir guidebook, we hope we could provide sufficient information and aid to those who are interested in our Archives. We know that in this short review we could not provide a iully detailed presentation. Obviously those visiting our institution for some reason, have specific, individual goals. We will try to do our best in answering those questions personally. We are respectfully looking forward to meeting our visitors. 201
