WINDISCH L'article analyse les manuscrits—-en volumes — conserves ä la Bibliothéque Nationale Széchényi et aptes ä servir de source ä I'histoire des sciences naturelles, de la technique et de la médecine. En commencant par les manuscrits les plus anciens et allant jusqu'au milieu du 19 e siécle, l'auteur est d'avis que de l'époque ultérieure notre bibliothéque nationale ne posséde qu'un nombre trop peu élévé de documents en manuscrits pour étre pris en considera­tion par rapport á I'histoire des sciences. Environ 1350 manuscrits ont été dépouillés. Pour le classement du materiel, les ouvrages parus a l'étranger sur ce mérne sujet nous ont servi de modele. Toutefois, en acceptant le Systeme d'autres ouvrages traitant de I'histo­ire des sciences, il nous a fallu tenir compte des exigences spécifiques de notre propre collec­tion dont la majeure partié date des 16 e •— 18 e siécles. C'est ainsi que nous avons établi les. groupes suivants: I. Manuscrits ayant trait a la vie scientifique en general. II. Mathématiques, astronomie. III. 1. Physique, chimie. 2. Leur application dans la pratique: technique, architecture. IV. Geographie, sciences politiques (statistiques), météorologie. 17&
