Papp, J.: Eleven new Eubazus Nees species from the Neotropical region (Hymenoptera: Braconidae: Brachistinae)

By a recent taxonomic examination ENDERLEIN's two species proved to represent the genus Orgilus HALIDAY, consequently, they were emendated and transferred in this genus (PAPP 1981: 258). The rest of the species are also emendated and ranged in the genus Eubazus: E. mexicanus (CRESSON), E. thoracicus (ASHMEAD) and E. venturii (SCHROTTKY). The generic name Eubazus was set up by NEES in 1812 and it is a senior valid name over the junior objecive synonymous Eubadizon NEES, 1834 and Eubadizus NEES, 1834, for further details see MASON (1974). The years of NEES's publication were clarified by BELOKOBYLSKIJ et al. (2003). VAN ACHTERBERG (2000: 339) pointed out that "The genus Eubazus... is rather large with a world-wide distribution, most diverse in the northern hemisphere and South America". For the present elaboration the Neotropic Eubazus material came from a few museums, in this respect see also Acknowledgement. Besides the descriptons of the eleven new Eubazus species (for their enumeration see the Abstract), two known species are redescribed. A highly rich and diverse Eubazus material is with me from Costa Rica (in the possession of the Insect Museum, Laramie), its taxonomic results are out of scope of the present elaboration. Abbreviations - The following abbreviations are applied in the descriptions of the new species (after VAN ACHTERBERG 1993: 5). Eye: OOL = shortest distance between hind ocellus and compound eye, POL = shortest distance between hind two ocelli. Fore wing venation: cu-a = transverse cubito-anal vein or nervulus, m-cu = transverse mediocubital vein or recurrent vein, r = transverse radial vein or first section of the radial vein, 1-CU1 = first section of the discoidal vein, 1-M = basal vein, I-Rl and 2-R1 = first and second sections of the metacarpal vein, 2-SR = first transverse cubital vein, 3-SR = second section of the radial vein, SRI third section of the radial vein, 1-SR-M = first section of the cubital vein. Hind wing venation: cu-a = nervellus of the subbasal cell. DESCRIPTIONS OF THE NEW SPECIES Eubazus (Brachistes) albicoxa sp. n. Çc? (Figs 1-10) Material examined (6 $ $ + 1 S) - Female holotype and five female + one male paratypes: "Honduras, Cortés, Parque Nacional Cusuco, 5 km N from Buenos Aires, 15°29'N-88°13'W, taken with Malaise trap set up in an oak / pine cloud forest", female holotype + two female paratypes (one female paratype in Budapest): "30 June 1995", one female paratype: "15 July 1995", one male paratype: "30 July 1995", one female paratype (in Budapest): "30 August 1995", leg. R. CAVE; one female paratype "ex Trampa malaica, 2 March 1995, leg. et educ. R. Cordero" . Female holotype and three female + one male paratypes are deposited in the Zoological Museum, Lund; two female paratypes in the Hungarian Natural History Museum (Department of Zoology) Budapest, Hym. Typ.
