GYMNOSPERMAE Caytoniales Sagenopteris cf. hallei HARRIS, 1932 (Figs 1-4, Plate 1: 1-5) 1932 a. Sagenopteris hallei HARRIS, HARRIS (cum syn.) p. 10, Pl. 1, figs 1,3-5. Material: BMP-6 Locality: Komló, Anna shaft Description: The specimen from Komló is an incomplete leaflet without basal part. Its length is about 5 cm and breadth about 2.5 cm. Shape lanceolate, margins entire, apex subacute. Midrib inconspicuous, giving off thin lateral veins at small angle. These veins are branched and anastomosed. Cuticle thin, the upper one is a bit thicker than the lower one. Upper surface showing polygonal, isodiametric cells with straight, well-marked walls. Stomata, hairs and papilla absent. Lower cuticle has similar cells, but with finer walls. Most of them have thicker cutinised median papilla. Stomata elliptical, slightly distinguished. The biggest 43 n,m long and 28 pjn wide. Guard cells kidney-shaped, subsidiary cells unspecialised. Hairs short and sparse, consisting of one or three basal cells, bearing a simple cylindrical cell. This specimen resembles Sagenopteris hallei described by HARRIS (1932a). Unfortunately, I found only one specimen. The cuticle is badly preserved and due to its small size the preparation does not reveal the location of the hairs and stomata. Venation is slightly marked and it is visible only on the fragment of lamina. The apex of the leaf seems to be rather similar to that of Sagenopteris nilssoniana (BRONGN.)WARD., but other distinctive marks inditate that this specimen belongs to S. hallei. Occurrence: Greenland,Sweden. Bennetitales Anomozamites minor (BRONGNIART) NATHORST, 1878 (Fig. 5, Plate I: 6-7, Plate II: 1,3) 1878a. Anomozamites minor NATHORST, p. 19; Pl. II, fig. 12. 1878b. Anomozamites minor NATH., HARRIS (cum syn.) p. 29; Pl. 1, fig. 7, PI. 2, figs 1, 6, text fig. 10. Material: BP 89.28.1. Locality: Komló, Zobák shaft, dump Description: The Museum has received only one specimen of this species from Komló. It is a small fragment of a leaf, consisting of a short impression of rachis and 5 pinnae. The pinnae are preserved on only one side of the rachis. Their lengths are about 1.4 cm, breadths 5-6 mm. Rachis smooth, pinnae linear, in the end obtuse, sticking to rachis with their whole breadths. Margins of segments antire. Veins are very fine and parallel with each other and with the margins.
