segment. Base of membrane pale. Tip of hemelytra reaching hind border of segment VI (9 ) or middle of segment VII (çf). — Abdomen of 9 oval, çf widened oval, posterolateral angles of connexival plates not protruding, onçf elevated (on segment V and VI strongly). Hind border of segment VII of 9 sinuate, of çf deeply sinuate. Rounded paratergite VIII of 9 surpassing tip of segment IX (Fig. 1). Paratergite of çf not reaching hypopygium (Fig. 2). Measurements: length of head cf '• 1-2 mm, Ç : 1.28 mm; width of head across eyes çf: 1.42 mm, 9 : 1-44 mm; length of pronotum çf: 1.42 mm, 9 : 1-48 mm; width of pronotum çf: 2.8 mm, 9 : 2.9 mm; length of scutellum çf: 1.23 mm, 9 : 1 -33 mm; width of scutellum çf: 1.48 mm, Ç : 1.58 mm; maximum width of body çf (across segment V): 3.66 mm, 9 (across segment IV): 3.8 mm; total length çf: 8.3 mm, 9 : 9.1 mm. Holotype: çf, with a single label reading "Caucasus". — Paratypes: 2 9 Ç with sin^ii­lar label. — Type material is deposited in the Hungarian Natural History Museum, Budapest. This species is closely related to M. (s. str.) tremulae (GERMAR, 1822) but can be clearly distinguished from it by the coloration, on tremulae being much darker with black scutellum, by the general shape of antennae being thinner on caucasica, by the shape of abdomen of males, lateral borders of connexival plates sinuate on tremulae, and by the shape of the genital segments (Figs. 3-4).
