VÁSÁRHELYI, Budapest Abstract — Description of Mezira (s. str.) caucasica sp. n. related to M. (s. str.) tremulae (GERMAR, 1822) is given. With 4 figures. Mezira (s. str.) caucasica sp. n. (Figs. 1-2) Macropterous, general shape similar to that of M. tremulae, but colour reddish brown with brown markings. — Head shorter than wide (çf 43 : 51, Ç 46 : 52). Genae distinctly surpassing apex of clypeus, not closed in front of it. Anterior process of head reaching 4/5 of first antennái joint. Postocular tubercles reaching far beyond eyes, acute. — Prono­t u m about twice as wide as long. Anterior border sinuate, anterolateral angles roun­ded, surpassing neck region. Lateral borders slightly sinuate, posteriorly straight and almost parallel. Hind border slightly sinuate. Anterior disc with 4 elevations, cove­red with coarse granulation and short curved bristles. Median longitudinal and trans­verse furrows deep. Hind disc convex with curved bristles. — Scutellum triangular, 1.2 times as wide as long, anterior border arched forward, black, lateral borders slightly sinuate, tip rounded. Disc with median longitudinal ridge and transverse furrows. — H e m ­elytra well developed, corium reddish brown, reaching beyond middle of third abdominal Figs. 1-4. Genitalia of Mezira caucasica sp. n. : 1 = female, 2 = male, and M. tremulae (GERMAR): 3 = female, 4 = male
