Specimens examined: 5 $ 1 çf, Prov. South Pyongan, Pyongyan, Hotel garden, 7-31. Vlll. 1971 (Nos. 150, 160, 176, 190,). Distribution: Europe, Japan, Manchuria, Korea, and Formosa. 60. Rhopalum (Rhopalum, sect. Corynopus) coarctatum koreeuse ssp. n. Q (Figs. 47-48) The present subspecies differs from the nominate race mainly in the form of the clypeus, interantennal process, prosternai teeth and the pygidial area, in the hairing of the mesonotum and slightly in the structure of the propodeum. 9. Length 7.0 mm. General pattern of colouration as in the typical race, but mandibles with the ferruginous part much darker, middle tibiae except base and apex black, reddish part of hind tibiae more narrowly restricted and the yellow is much paler (natural?). Clypeus less strongly pointed at apex (Fig. 47), interantennal protuberance not enlarged and dilated on top, but cone-shaped with the top cut off, considerably high and covered with silvery pubescence. Occipital carina suddenly ended at apices, but not markedly raised nor swollen. The tooth before the procoxa merely tuberculate, not pointed at apex. Pygidial area slightly broader (Fig. 48). Mesonotum more closely punctured, with the pubescence slightly longer, hence the surface less shining than in the typical race. Area dorsalis inclined nearly from the base, with the disc smooth and polished, without any trace of striae, median furrow distinctly outlined on both sides by fine carinae and the triangular impression on posterior wall with the inside nearly smooth. rf unknown. Holotype: Q, Prov. Ryang-gang, Plateau Chann-Pay, Sam-zi-yan, 1600 m, 28. VHI. 1971 (No. 218). 61. Rhopalum (Rhopalum sect. Corynopus) nipponicum chosencnsc ssp. n. 9 c/ (Figs. 49 — 50) The new subspecies ( 9 çf) is very similar to R. nipponicum hokkaidoense, differs from this, however, in that the interantennal process is much longer (Fig. 49, 9) dorsal view; Fig. 50, çf, lateral view), ends of occipital carina less strongly produced into a triangular process (Ç>çf, Fig. 50, çf) and clypeus slightly more narrowly rounded at apex ( 9 )• Holotype: çf , Prov. South Phenan, Sa-gam po, 30 km N from Pyongyan, 24. V. 1970, leg. MAHUNKA et STEINMANN (NO. 50). — Paratype: $, Prov. South Pyongan, Pyongyan, Hotel garden, 11. Vlll. 1971 (No. 162). Remarks. — In the paratype female the 2nd segment of the abdomen is narrowly reddish, somewhat approaching the typical race occurring in the main Island of Japan. This is the first record of the species from regions other than Japan. 62. Rhopalum (Rhopalum sect. Corynopus) nigrinum. KIESENWETTER, 1840 Rhopalum (Rhopalum sect.
