Genus: Mariella NOWAK, 1916. Maiiella (Mariella) bergeri (BRONGNIART) 1822. Turrilites Bergeri BRONGNIART, p. 395, pl. 7, fig. 3a, b. 1937. Turrilites bergeri (BRONG.)-SPATH, 510, pl. 57, fig. 28; text fig. 178. 1968. Mariella (M.) bergeri bergeri (BRONGN.)— RENZ, p. 85, pl. 17, figs. 37a— b, pl. 18, figs. 3, 4, 8; text fig. 31f, k. Examined material: Stone molds, partly with shells, of 12 specimens. Localities: Olaszfalu, V; Bakonynána, G, B; Jásd, Z; Lókút; Pénzeskút, K r Description: Shells apically subtending 25—30°, whorl cross section oval, rather wider than high, ratio: 26:23. Suturai lines agreeing with those of the genus. Remarks : The number of ribs is not uniform, with a certain variability observable also in this taxon; their majority, however, not reaching 35. The nodes often elongate along the ribs, thus emphasizing the "rib" image. The first node towards the apex (near the suture) often extends into a rib. The nodes of the specimen M. 63.1483 are very robust and protrude conspicuously, thus tending towards the species crassituberculata. The interstices separating the nodal series often appear as a marked sulcus, though not reaching the depth observable in the species canaliculata. They show a striking depLh in the specimens M. 63.1641 or M. 1980. Occurrence: England (dispar zone); France (Upper Vraconnian); Germany (Upper Flanimenmcrgel) ; Switzerland (Vraconnian); Sardinia, Tunisia (Vraconnian), Algeria, India, Venezuela, California. Mariella (M.) sp. ? bergeri (BRONGN.) Remarks: The fragments of about 10 specimens, of very bad preservation. Localities: Pénzeskút, K x ; Jásd, Z; Bakonynána, B. The ribbing of specimen M. 63.1888 strongly resembles that of the species M. (M.) miliaris (CAMP. & PICT.). Mariella (M.) aff. erassitubereulata (SPATH) 1937. Turrilites bergeri var. crassituberculata SPATH, p. 513. 1968. Mariella (M.) crassituberculata crassituberculata (SPATH) —RENZ, p. 86, pl. 18, figs. 5, 6a, b; text fig. 31a, 32i, Examined material: Stone molds and fragments of 3 specimens from Olaszfalu, V, and Lókút. Description: The fragments of large-sized specimens. Number of tubercles constituting rib system 4. Remarks: The large, rounded tubercles imply the formenkreis of the above species. Owing to the faulty state of preservation, merely an open name is here given, nor can it be decided whether we have to deal eventually with a form of bergeri. Occurrence: England, France, Switzerland, as for the species bergeri. Mariella (M.) nobilis (JUKES BROWNE) (Plate II, Fig. 4) 1861. Turrilites intermedius PICTET & CAMPICHE, pl. 27, fig. 15. 1877. Turrilites nobilis JUK. BROW., p. 493, pl. 21, f. 1. 1968. Mariella (M.) nobilis nobilis (JUKES BROWNE)—RENZ, p. 98, pl. 17, figs. 28a, b; text fig. 31, 1, 32, k.
