M. Nyírő, R.: Study of the smaller Foraminifera of the Weimpuszta Middle Eocene key section at Nagyesztergár (Bakony Mountains, Transdanubia, Hungary)

circumstance confirms the local nature of this unconformity and suggests to draw the lower limit of the N. perforatus horizon between samples 133 and 134. The smaller Foraminifers characteristic of the Eocene are: Hyperammina nodata, Eponides truempyi, E. vortex, Nonionella spissa, Planulina burlingtonensis neelyi, Gyroidina whitei. Accessory elements are Asterigerina bartoniana, Rotalia audouini, Nonion scaphum, Eponides budensis, Cibicides propinquus, Cibicides sulzensis. Paleontological Systematies In the following a comparative description of those species is given, which are characteristic of the section studied, or indicative of the Eocene, or new for Hungary. They have been ordered in the text and in Fig. 1. as well according to the taxonomy of LOEBLICH & TAPPAN (1964). As far as possible, range and distribution data are added. For the sake of stratigraphie use, the obsolete nomenclature has been used in the case of some "zonal" species or others needing a thorough revision. All photos are magnified 500 times. Gen. One single specimen, from the Assilina spira horizon, corresponding the type, described by REUSS. New for Hungary. Verneuilina villarensis CUSHMAN & BERMUDEZ Plate I, Fig. 4. 1937 Verneuilina villarensis CUSHMAN & BERMUDEZ, CUSHMAN & BERMUDEZ: C. C. L. F. R. Sharon, Mass, vol. 13, pt. 1, p. 1, pl. 1, f. 12. 1949 Verneuilina villarensis CUSHMAN & BERMUDEZ, CUVILLIER & SZAKÁLL: Foram. d'Aquitaine, première partie, p. 19, pl. 7, f. 4. Two specimens found in sample 81 of the Assilina spira horizon, readily identifiable with the species as described by CUVILLIER & SZAKÁLL (1949). Test and chamber shape are almost identical, but less elongated, and the last chamber is more inflate. New for Hungary. — Eocene of Cuba; common in the Lutetian of France. Gen.
