Surface impunctate, except for one or two fine punctures on disc, and without ground sculpture, on each side with a distinct sulcus, bounded externally by a ridge, which commences at the inner margin of the eye and extends backwards and then inwards to almost meet the posterior head suture, the backwards directed portion of each sulcus with a number of finer sulci which extend obliquely forwards and inwards and behind these a shallow fovea, the inwardly directed portion with traces of one or two similar sulci ; towards base with a short longitudinal median furrow. Mandibles normal in size, maxillary palpi as in fig. 7. Antennae moderately long, reaching (if extended backwards) a little beyond the posterior margin of the pronotum, first segment long, moderately widened apically, the second narrower and much shorter than the first, the third narrower and a little shorter than the second, the fourth about as broad as and distinctly shorter than the third, about as long as broad, the fifth longer and a little wider than the fourth, about as long as broad, the sixth to tenth scarcely longer than the fifth but increasing gradually in breadth, the sixth subquadrate, the tenth rather more than one and one half times as broad as long, the eleventh more than twice as long as the tenth, bluntly pointed apically.
