NEW SPECIES OF THYNNID.E. 109 iirst, the femora, tibiae and tarsi dark ferruginous. Wings hyaline, ner­vures fuscous. Length 1 '2 mm. Hab. Mount Victoria, New South Wales. ( BÍRÓ.) Type in Hungarian National Museum. Near T. secluloides TURN, but the hypopygium is differently shaped, resembling that of T. abstinens TURN. The colour of the abdo­men is very similar to T. rubellus SM. Agriomyia bisecta sp. nov. $ . Clypeus finely punctured, without a carina, truncate broadly anteriorly; a short, shallow, longitudinal sulcus between the antennae. Head flattened, nearly twice as broad as long, strongly rounded at the posterior angles; the front opaque and finely shagreened, separated from the vertex by a delicate strongly arched carina, the vertex more polished and sparsely punctured. Pronotum much narrower than the head, mo­derately narrowed posteriorly, as long as the breadth on the posterior margin, convex, the anterior angles prominent, the anterior margin raised with a very short and obscure sulcus on the middle. Scutellum and pronotum shining, very sparsely punctured, the scutellum as long as broad, rounded at the apex. Median segment closely punctured and clothed thinly with long pale brown pubescence, nearly as long as the pronotum, narrow at the base, much broadened posteriorly and obli­quely truncate. Abdomen much broader than the thorax, shining, the first segment truncate anteriorly, broadly depressed at the apex, the raised portion before the apex not bilobed or emarginata posteriorly, a few scattered punctures above the truncation at the base ; second segment with five strong transverse carinae including the raised apical margin ; segments 3—5 delicately aciculate at the base, sparsely punc­tured near the apex, the extreme apex smooth. Pygidium almost verti­cally depressed, more than twice as long as the greatest breadth, elon­gate ovate, narrower at the base than at the apex, narrowly truncate at the apex ; the dorsal plate with the sides raised and with a low median carina, truncate at the apex, the ventral plate extending much beyond the dorsal. Fourth and fifth ventral segments coarsely punctured and thinly clothed with long golden pubescence. Tarsal ungues bifid. Entirely ferruginous brown. Length 11- mm. Hab. Cooktown, Queensland. Type in Hungarian National Museum.
